The hide amongst the trees on the edge of the dam offers a perfect vantage point to observe a rich variety of birdlife in their natural habitat. Fish eagles, kingfishers, crown cranes and secretary birds are only but a few that have been seen from the Bird Hide.

Nestled around the serene beauty of Lake Lyndhurst, at the source of the Umgeni River, this wetland is rich sanctuary for birdlife. This unique ecosystem offers an incredible opportunity for birdwatching, attracting a diverse range of species year-round.

With its vast wetlands, lush reed beds, and expansive grasslands, the area is teeming with an array of birds, both resident and migratory. Among the highlights are the majestic Wattled Crane, the vibrant Yellow-rumped Widow together with the Red Bishop and the Jackal Buzzard, to name a few.

They had a great time and really enjoyed the overall experience at the accommodation and the BonFire was a hit. We had such an awesome time and when the lights went out the stars switched on which was amazing to see. We will definitely recommend Bellwood to other golf groups and others for a getaway.
