Shuttleworth Weaving is set in one of the beautiful natural forests of the Natal Midlands in South Africa. Set in the foothills of the Drakensberg, a winding country road will lead you to a quiet studio on a hillside, looking over a peaceful valley. In operation for over thirty years, our family-owned business produces high quality mohair carpets and throws, with a special emphasis on texture and colour in the weaving. We use environmentally friendly natural fibres, developing our own special hand-spun yarns. We are committed also to our workers, offering them, as far as we are able, the same kind of lifestyle we aspire to i.e.to make a decent and satisfying living in a rural setting by handwork which is original and beautiful.
