Shelley & Craig

Where did you first set eyes on each other?
At a rugby match at Kings Park

Which aspect of Bellwood was a deal breaker in deciding where to get married?
The beauty of the venue and warm friendliness of the venue owners. The fact that the accomodation was on the property and that we could make a full weekend of it. The venue size also played a huge factor – the fact that it was big enough for our number of guests.

Any wedding tips to inspire our brides to be?
Utilise the beautiful areas of the farm i.e. forsest wedding, entertainment on the lawn and then the reception , always include fairy lights - it makes for such a magic feel.

Favorite spot on Bellwood Stud for your creative photo-shoot?
Too many beautiful spots but the avenue of trees leading down to the venue, the jetty on the dam and the swing in the forest were the best spots in my opinion

Describe your venue décor & colours in 3 words?
Classic, elegant, feminine

Which activities did you choose to entertain your guests while you were busy with your photographer?
Golf, Croquet, Boole, Giant Jenga, Live Music (Dez), Gin Bar, Wine Bar, Pimms Bar, Photo Booth.

Tell us a bit about your chosen caterer and wedding menu details.
We chose CHC as our caterer and their food was outstanding. They served canapés for the guests while we were having photos. We chose the following for our menu:
Starter - Toasted Garlic Bruschette, Topped with Rocket' Goats Cheese Grilled Brown Mushrooms and Pesto
Mains – a choice of one of the following:

  • Slow Roast Kleftico Style Lamb Shanks with Oregano' Lemon and Garlic
  • Crumbed Chicken Fillets with Spinach and Feta Stuffing
  • Brinajl Moussaka Towers (Vegetarian Option)
Dessert – we chose to do ourselves and a friend provided a table of assorted puddings

Did you have cupcakes / tiered cake or a dessert / candy bar?
We had a 3 (separately ) tiered, naked cake with each layer being a different flavour (Chocolate, carrot, and vanilla cream).

Where did you spend your honeymoon? Most exciting experience?
We went to honeymoon in Maldives and stayed in a water bungalow – so so beautiful. We did many activities such as snorkelling with turtles, eels and reef sharks but the most exciting adventure was parasailing and being able to see the islands from a different perspective.

The story behind your exquisite dress?! Where, when and how did you chose the right one...
About 6 months before the wedding I went with my bridesmaids, my Mom and granny to Pronovius wedding store in Santon but only for the fun experience of trying on different styles with champagne in our hands. I tried on a few but there was no doubt in anyones mind that when I walked out in this particular one, it was a done deal. It had stunning hand made lace from Bartelona over the whole dress and some of the lace resembled small shells…. my nickname is 'Shell' so it was just meant to be. Choosing the dress was the easiest part of the wedding experience.
